He got there before I did and apparently he drove it in! It is legally street registered. Yes, that is one of the exhaust pipes behind the headlight on each side. Some of you will have seen the U Tube of the car at Willowbank drag strip where the torque is such that the chassis flexes and lifts the left front wheel way off the ground. Someone posted the link here a while ago.

Impressive stuff for sure. Pity that it is powered by American muscle under the hood.
I wonder how much power can be tapped from the M100 with some lightweight pistons, turbo and nitrous..? With lower comp motor it should be ideal for upping the power with some fat turbo's...

AMG built one Interserie racer based on the Chevy powered McLarens, using a twin-turbo 6.8 litre M100 motor.

Apart from the 300 SEL project, AMG had also been working on a McLaren M8F sports car, fitted with the 6.8 litre Mercedes engine, for the Interserie championship. Heyer was signed to drive, and the car debuted at Imola, only for Hans to have a light accident in practice, followed by an engine detonation in the first heat, when he over-revved an engine that clearly was way underpowered. It was 200 horsepower down on the leading Interserie engines, but was heavier to boot! The project was quickly and quietly shelved.

Above was borrowed here: http://www.f1rejects.com/drivers/heyer/biography.html

But it never raced because the motor did not last... I guess

I have only seen a handful of pictures of that car. Apparently Hans Heyer bought it after AMG dropped the program, and turned it into a kind of pseudo 107 SLC looking car.
