Does anyone know what belt sizes are needed for the 6.3 motor? I'd like to buy continental belts but my wholesaler does not list them all.

With best regards

Hey Al, did you ever get the data you needed here? I'm researching it now myself and would like to verify for all what the correct belts are, and then be able to cross reference them across suppliers.

According the Databooklet 1972:

AC : 12.5 x 1125 double
aircompressor : 12.5 x 1475 double
Alternator : 9.5 x 910

there is no Note, that for the 6.3 the Euro differs from the US-version. ( although for the 600 versions they do differ for the US and Euro versions AND additional changed since VIN 001769 caused by a modified bracket and belt tensioner for right alternator which since then needs a longer V-Belt for all the 600s )

Paul, on the U.S. version 600 there were also foot notes as to whether shorter or longer belts were used. Specifically, the air pump/waterpump/power steering belts. Up to engine number
100.980-12-001005 a set of 12.5x1425 belts were used, and from engine number 100-980-12-001006 a set of 12.5x1500 belts were used. The engines that were exceptions were 000975, 000990-000992, and 000996. Those exceptions used the later larger sized belts. However, these footnotes have proven time and again to be incorrect. The closer to the extremities of the engine number breaks you get the more of a chance there will be for the footnotes being falsified. Suffice, to say, it wasn't specifically a Euro version verses U.S. version issue for the different sized belts. To say so could be misleading.

Hi Aaron,
I wrote, that all V-belts for the 6.3 series have the same lenght. See my posting above.

In the lenght of the V-belts for the 600-series there are differences.
The early version had a five groove V-belts construction. As far as I know all with the same lenghts. The later version with 7 groove belt construction there are different lenghts for the US market versus the Euro market. See the picture on top of this posting.
The lenght of Belt "A" changed at Vin 001769 for all 600-cars.

Until now I have had no indications, that those figures are incorrect
