I could see lots of air bubbles coming out of the tubes with the brake fluid, and saw bubbles in the reservoir floating to the top.... After installation, everything worked!
Thanks again for your help.

I changed all filters and ready to fill the engine and transmission with new fluids.
How much transmission fluid and motor oil do I need to purchase? I've never done this before. Are there any specifics I should know?

I came across an ad on US eBay:MERCEDES SEAT COVERS300sel 6.3 LEATHER for $783.75 (Item number: 150243724966) but very sceptical about quality. If anyone familiar with their products please let me hear your opinion. Eventually I would like to change leather covers on all seats.

How to properly fill fluid in transmission and power steering pump?
I bought 12qrts of Dexron II type ATF, motor oil and as Neil suggest ZDDP Plus.
I can't wait to star engine and see it in action.

You need to half fill the trans, about 4 liters maximum. then with the engine running check the level. it will have fallen,so add more fluid slowly until it reaches the low mark. leave it there until trhe car is driveable. You must only check the level when the trans has run at least 5 miles to ensure it hot .Overfilling these trans is worse than underfilling. They will whip the oil and this foamy oil will not lube the guts properly.
Filling the power steering another slightly tricky job.
Fill the resrvoir.
on the steering box is a bleed nipple, such as you find on a brake. connect a length of hose to this and secure it tightly ,then, aim the other end into the reservoir. Loosen the bleeder a turn or two.
Start the engine and let it idle , watch the fluid level. it should drop right down. Add fluid until it starts to come from the tube. keep the engine idling until the fluid is running almost clear without bubbles.
Now,very slowly turn the wheel ,left to right .
Check the fluid level again and if it's at the mark while idling and there no bubbles ,you are done.
Turn the engine off, tighten the bleeder and fit the reservoir cap. Never check it with engine stopped. it will give you a false reading.

What the heck, try to stuff a MB 6.9 liter V8 in it. What a machine that would be..

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR YOUR GREAT HELP!
I can not believe it but my car is running!
No leaks, temperature is a little bit above 175 mark.
I let it run for 10-15 minutes then I couldn't start it again.
After several attempts I realized that I was out of gas. After I filled it with 5 gallons of gas it started right up!
My wife made a bet that I would never put the car back together but thank to all of you I did!
I drove it today around a block. Engine, trans and power steering work good. Brakes and suspension are weak, I need to work on that.
I am very happy with the result!
I couldn't help it and took a picture of the car next to my wife's new 2011 s550 4matic(my birthday present to her).

Hello Eugene,

I am very glad to read your post. Congratulations on the success!

With patience and persistance there is nothing you cannot do on your car. I have no doubt that you will continue to make good progress.

It is my own opinion, but I think the 6.3 is the better looking of the two cars in your photo.

Brakes are simple if you do it one hit. That is, fit a new master cylinder (dont bother rebuilding one,it's cheaper to buy new) ,four new brake hoses, get all four calipers rebuilt and either fit new disc rotors or if the discs are within specs, get them machined.A thorough flush with brake fluid to clean the main lines out of old fluid and you can do the job in a weekend .
The biggest problem you will find is the nuts on the brake lines will tight and almost impossible to loosen.
Undo them using a Snap on patent brake nut wrench. Anything else will destroy the nuts.
These cars have way too much torque to drive them with dodgy brakes.

Hello Eugene;
where does it come from/lead to? Does not look toooo original at the end of the wire.
My guess would be that it goes to the switch which regulates the additional a/c fan from the right side of the thermostat. Your car should have this switch (A0065453924). Guess you have a/c.
When it comes out of or runs parallel to the normal cable harness it could also come from the stop magnet of the injection pump as you seem to have a late US-version with the emission crab. In this case this should go directly to the ignition coil when I remember corectly.
You cant see (but you can feel it..) the magnet at the back of the pump from above but only from the side through the intake manifolds you can, more or less, see it....hope you mounted the wire with the screw properly before putting the pump in....otherwise it costs you time/sweat/fingers and stuff like that....dont ask me how I kow this so well!!. Maybe that helps.

Art, thank you.
I am putting together a list of body and air suspension parts I need.
I bought and installed a kwiklift in my garage. I am planning to work on brakes, fuel system and air suspension during the winter.

Hello Eugene;

If you need sheet metal, I still have some parts left over from my project. I'm not sure where you are in NY, but I'm in Manhattan.

No shop here! Just an apartment with some car parts stuffed into one of the rooms.

Ah, the single life!
