Hello Eugene,
that looks sooooo familiar to the job I did only a week ago..... Keep on going and posting! As a coating I always use Brantho Korrux 3in1 for most surfaces which you can either spray or use a brush or a roll. It performs perfectly, even on blank metal (and also on little rust, eventually treated before with Brunox epoxy).
Thanks to Art I know now that 5327 now has a 2,85 axle from 3478 instead of 2,28 which he had earlier. I learn every day a little. Who knows where that ends....???

Just a quick comment on the stated ratios. Twice in this topic the early ratio has been typed as 2.28:1. It is actually 2.82:1.

It's a typo in the Parts Manual which I have faithfully transcribed. I was going to suggest it was probably a typo but thought I'd wait for someone who knew what they were talking about to correct it. That has proven to be the case.

Is there an article on the forum, how to properly remove axles and hand brakes from rear end?

Can someone recommend me a plating company in USA? Did anybody use autopartsplating.com?

Thank you, Eugene.

Eugene,

There is stuff on putting the rear axle and hand brake back together in the thread on Justin's #5810 around pages 7-8, but not on pulling them apart. I guess if you read the thread backwards it covers what you are asking in reverse (up to a point). I don't recall any other threads on the topic.

I had some time off from work.. and had time to work on my car.
This trick I learned from Justin's project. It worked very well.

Pleased to see you making progress. Available time is always a killer. Glad that my postings on Justin's various projects are proving useful to someone. Will you be attending the Meet in Ottawa?

I will not be able to make it because I am going to Italy in September. I hope my car will be ready next year so I can participate in coming events.

Art I am sure I speak for many when I say that your postings are well respected if not biblical for people like me who have very little mechanical experience and want to maintain one of these cars, thanks for your input.

Air suspension is not rebuilt yet but I would like to keep my car up. I temporary connected air valves to front air tanks and inflated the air bags.
I am looking for temporary valves for back air tanks. I came across this on the forum.

Where can I buy a couple of those adopters/air valves? Can someone make it for me?
